Braille UX is an investigation into a new way for the visually impaired to interact with digital content. This project is inspired by empathetic user research driven process to deliver an inclusive, and accessible experience for the visually impaired to access digital content. During early stage research it became obvious the disparity gap in accessibility for persons who lack or struggle with the ability to see digital content. The project is further backed by quantitative data that shows 70% of working - age visually impaired adults are unemployed usually due to their lack of ability to interface with digital devices at work. The objective of Braille UI+X is to combat the lack accessibility and equity for the visually impaired by transforming our digital world into a tactile braille UI. The project allows users to feel their way through software interfaces by mirroring content from a computer to the braille display and gives the visually impaired a door into the digital world.
